Mrs. Goldstein, one of our tech facilitators, came into the classroom on Monday and led the kids through the "engineer design process" to create Lego ornaments. For each one, Lego will donate a Lego kit to a child in need. The kids did a great job, had fun and did good for those in need at the same time! We then used the engineer design process Mrs. Goldstein taught us to create our Cardboard Challenge project.

Cardboard Challenge
This year's Cardboard Challenge was a success! The kids were given the parameters that they could only use one box, scissors and tape to create anything they could imagine. The kids designed their structure, worked through the building process, and overcame set backs. They collaborated well, offered assistance to each other, and devised solutions to problems they encountered. They also communicated effectively with each other, compromised, shared materials, and met a deadline. I love the learning that takes place during this project. The kids were all so proud as we showed off our projects in the Commons. Here are some pictures of this experience.
