Today, our class did an experiment not knowing what it was about. We had to create an object that could float on water and travel without us touching it. Most groups figured out that if you made a sail with the limited resources we had,such as styrofoam trays,popsicle sticks,tape,straws,tin foil,a balloon,and wax paper,it could glide across the water easily. All of the groups made a boat. After the experiment, we had a big group discussion about the experiment we had. Mrs.Greazel told us that we were learning about matter. The crazy thing is that some of our 6th grade siblings are learning about matter too!!:D After that we found out that this was about matter, we learned that matter came in 3 different forms. They are solids,liquids,and gasses. We learned so much about matter. Matter always matters!!!!

Southeast Tour with 4-5! by Maeve

SOUTHEAST TOUR  WITH 4-5!

       On the Thursday before break,we had the other 4th grade classes tour in and watch our presentations about the Southeast Native Americans' clothing, food, tools, climate,landscape and resources.   Before the classes came, we wrote a script about what we were going to explain about our expert area and we had a good idea of what we were going to explain. We ran through the presentations to make sure we had enough time to go through our presentations. We all made it and we had a great tour! Then we went to other 4th grade classes and went to see their presentations about how the Native Americans lived in their regions.  We went to Mrs. Schwarz's class which presented on the Eastern Woodlands Region and to Mrs. Quick's class which presented on the Southwest.  Afterwards, we compared how the regions effected how the Native Americans lived.  We noticed that where you live effects how you live.  Watch our presentations below so you can see what we learned.  Enjoy the presentations!
